Placed at the corresponding lunar latitude, a sundial on the moon would
record the Lunar Day, approxiamately 29.5 earth days!  This is the same
as the period of lunar phases.  

I can conceive that there would be some practical use for such a dial in
that knowing how long until sun set might be helpful.  Consequently, the
Babylonian markings would be most useful.  Isn't that a strange thought,
that one of the most ancient earthly inventions might have a practical
use in a lunar colonisation!
