Dear fellow diallists,

I have a GIF file (1804KB) which some of you may find of interest.

The painting is titled, I believe, "The Measurers" and contains several
people measuring various items such as cloth, grain, and wine.

The central figure in the painting is a man laying out the lines of a dial.
In front of him on the floor are a finished quadrant dial and a multi-faced
dial. In the background, through an open doorway, can be seen a man using a
quadrant to measure the sun's position.

I emailed the GIF file to myself to see how long it would take to download
from my mail server. It took about 16 minutes.

Rather than posting this large file to the sundial list, perhaps one of you
with a web page would allow me to send the file to you so it could be
posted for all to see in thumbnail format. Then, if anyone wants the full
size picture, they could download it from your site.

Because the file is large, the resolution is high which allows zooming in
for a close look at the dials without appreciable loss of detail.
