Also in the Alps are some large sundials: mountain-sundials. One of the well-knowns is in Sexten (italian Sesto) in the Dolomits near the borderline Austria - Italy. There are mountains named Neunerkofel (IX) Zehnerkofel (X) Elfer (XI) Zwoelfer (XII) and Einerkofel (I). In the moment of the name of the mountain the sun is over the top of the mountain. For instance: the height of the Zwoelfer is 3094 m, the distance between the Zwoelfer and the point from which you can see the right time is about 7000 m in the north. If you want to seek it: The point is 46 deg. 40 min. in the north and -12 deg. 21 min. in the east.
