Yes, that French Revolutionary era dial also appears on the cover
of _Sky and Telescope_, January, 1982, issue.  Therein, on page 16,
you'll find an article ("A Bit of Porcelin") -- with close-up photos
-- about this dial, written by R. Newton Mayall.  The dial was (still
is?) in the collection at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
