How did he know the time exactly? Do we have information on his latitude?
Was the gnomon angle correct for that latitude? Would his sundial work at a
different latitude without adjusting the slope of the reclining position?
What physiological manoeuvres would have been required to achieve the
correct gnomonal angle?

Presumable this type of sundial would be practically useless at latitudes
say above 66 degrees North.
