Dear NASS members:
I want to thank all of you who immediately sent me E-mails in response to my
letter of introduction yesterday. It is so nice to be connected to this
group via the net! But I can't wait to meet you all in person.
Most of you had the same questions: Do I have a price list? Do I sell my
Sundial Owners manual Seperately? And most of all, everyone wants to see
pictures. I was originally going to send real photos to those fo you who
asked for them, but there are so many of you that I think that I had better
finish my web page pronto! ( It's been "under construction" in web limbo
for the longest time but it wasn't important to me until now.] My business
is somewhat seasonal being very busy this time of year. But I promiss to
get the page up and running as soon as possible. [Santa brings the scanner
at Christmas].
I'll answer some of your questions now. I've never been asked before, but
yes, I will sell the Sundial Owners Manual seperately , although I'd rather
sell you a sundial to go along with it! Send 20.00 $ payable to me, John
Carmichael, and send to 925 E. Foothills Dr. Tucson Az 85718.
I can only give you a price range for my dials as the exact price is
determined by the amount of carving, painting and polishing and the type of
counterweight. With so many variables, the price is different for each
dial. The small 24" dials as described in my intro. letter range from 850
to 1500 and the large 40" dials range from 2500. to 3500. dollars. There is
an extra charge of $ 200. for customers who live in locations which
require me to do new designs. Anotherwords, if I have already done the
math and
design work for your city then you won't get charged extra.
Transportation is a touchy subject. Stone and brass don"t like to be
dropped and banged around. I simply don't trust any commercial carrier to
do a good job and handle my sundials without breakage. I personally have
delivered all of my sundials or the customer has picked them up in my
studio. Also, Each customer is responsible for finding his own support
pedestal.
Thank you again for all the interest. I'll get the web page with pictures
tobether as soon as I can.
merry Christmas,
John Carmichael
