A lesser known ones of HB's which might amuse any who haven't heard it:

     "I am a Sundial, ordinary words
      Cannot convey my thoughts on birds!"

You're right Frank - there may be not much left to say after such masters 
of the couplet
but the haiku format seems very promising!
