In 1582 there were two solar eclipses and three lunar eclipses.
Lunar Eclipses were, all of them, of penumbral type and their magnitude was
very low, so I think, they could have been appreciated with difficulty or
not at all.
Anyway, the first one (June 6th) was visible from Mexico City only, and the
third one (December 12th) was visibile from Madrid only. The second one
(July 7th) was not visible from both places.
Both solar eclipses was not visible from Madrid nor Mexico City.
The first one happened on June 20th and the Sun was 6° below the horizon
(Madrid) and 50° below horizon (Mexico City).
The second one happened just on Christmas day when the Sun was respectively
46° below the horizon (Madrid) and 65° below horizon (Mexico City).
