Thanks Dave and David and Anton for your thoughts on using the Schmoyer
sundial in the Southern hemisphere. This sounds about right to me. I have a
Universal Ring Dial which appears to use the gnomon in a similar way to the
Schmoyer sundial. All I had to do to southern hemespherize that was to flip
the gnomon. I think hour markings were also reversed but it's been a while
since I looked. With the Schmoyer dial that wouldn't be a problem as the
hours aren't marked.
