Earlier I wrote:

It occurs to me that I should have mentioned that the tree's shadow
lay in large part on a sidewalk.  The pinhole images need to be cast
on a pretty good surface to be easily visible.

Every program has at least one bug and can be shortened by at least
one instruction -- from which, by induction, one can deduce that every
program can be reduced to one instruction which doesn't work.
