Hello All Dialists:

The question gathering phase of the FAQ project is almost complete. I'm
just waiting for the rest of the NASS members to respond with their
questions to the mailing I sent them. Next week, I will submit my finished
list of questions to you people on the sundial list for any final
corrections, suggestions or last minute additions to the list of questions.
The list will then go to Claude Hartman who will have to find a chairman to
head the answer committee. Unfortunately, as of yet, nobody has volunteered
to do this job. Although I am extremely interested in this project, I don't
think that I am qualified for this position. Besides, I just don't have the
time, as I do have a business that I'm trying to run!

I can't stop thinking about how the committee might go about assembling all
the FAQ answers. I know that the vast majority of the sundial questions
(There are 211 of them!) have already been previously asked and answered on
the sundial list. A couple weeks ago, someone posted a site which has ALL of
the correspondence that has ever been done on the list. There have been
over 300,000 letters to the list since its inception!!! Too bad there isn't
a way to easily go through all these and pick out the answers to the FAQ
list. Or is there?

Do any of you have any ideas as to how the poor chairman of the FAQ answer
committee might go about assembling answers to the FAQs in a way that would
be fairly simple and easy? I might add, that everyone that I have contacted
from NASS and this list, has volunteered to serve on the answer committee.
So there are a lot of people willing to help provide answers.

I know this is a long shot, but I'll ask again: Would any of you like to be
chairman?

Yours truely,

John Carmichael
