Dear fellow dialists,

A few months back I mentioned here that I was working on a refinement of
the 007 PostScript capuchin sundial (www.math.toronto.edu/007/ at the
bottom of the page.)

I finished the project some time ago and I want to share it but I don't
have a place to keep such files on the web. Currently I'm borrowing some
space but it's only temporary.

If you have 7 to 90 k of spare webspace and want to help me out go to
www.cyberspace.org/~jh/dial/ and download capuch1.ps (and/or eqdial.ps),
put them on the web and let me know the URL so I can link to it/them.

There is one problem I should address. A user informed me that the top of
the capuchin dial ran off the top of the page. He also said the same thing
happened with the 007 dial. I never heard of that happening to anyone else
and I'm assuming it's unique to his configuration. If anyone out there
knows the answer I'd love to hear from you. In any case I've moved it down
a little. I hope it's enough.

PostScript is really a programming language (you may need Ghostscript,
www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/) and capuch1.ps is a program. For it to be usable
you'll likely have to modify it for your latitude (unless you live in
Hartford, Ct or Miami, Fl.) Once that's done you cut the paper and make it
into a capuchin sundial. (Likewise the equatorial dial, eqdial.ps, is a
simple kit made from a sheet of paper and a pencil.)

Thanks,

John
