I was looking up another problem in Jean Meeus' book
_Mathematical Astronomy Morsels_ and came upon the following tidbit
(page 345). It should be of interest to all diallists.
"On 1996 November 2, the equation of time was equal to +16
minutes 26.3 seconds, its greatest value since more than 1000 years."
