Now my interest has been tweaked by Mike's and others explanation of the
April 5th. tax date in the UK. I should have but never had associated the
calendar reform with the Tax date.
>The government relented, and said "OK, pay your taxes 365
>days after the last time you paid"
>Thus the date for tax paying moved back 11 days to 5th
>April - where it remains in the UK to this day.

This now raises the question of why our taxes in the US are due April 15th.
Anyone know??
