Actually, it all derives from the Theory of Relativity.  Einstein said
that the faster you go, time slows down for you.  This is why travel at
speeds that approach the speed of light become, in effect, trips in time. 

Well, the corollary *must* be that the slower you go, time speeds up for
you.  And I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting slower every
day!!
