The lovely and unusual horizontal dial located on a pedestal in the churchyard of St Lawrence's Church in Chobham, Surrey, UK has sadly been stolen. It is believed to have been taken only very recently and may be shortly offered for sale in the UK or overseas. The dial is dated 1760 and was delineated by Bennett. It has a very unusual arched gnomon support.
Attached is a scan of the Report form (No R2579) which is held in the records of the British Sundial Society - apologies for the left hand side, the form is bound in a book. A photograph will be available when the transparency (or a print from it) is retrieved either from our archives (or from the original recorder) and scanned. I hope members of this list will understand me sending this photo as a second message to this forum. If anyone has any information that they think might be relevant they should contact me by e-mail.
