Actually didn't the "evil landlords" have the 11 days of rent due to them?
After all, since all previous years were slightly shorter then they should
have been, and the tenets had been getting a bargain!
(Of course in reality it should have only been retroactive to the
origin of
the rented structure, typically less than 200 years...not significant.)

Regarding Franks mention of simple folks cry of "give us back our 11
days" Well I would be pretty riled too if the rent was due 11 days
early as I'm sure evil land lords would have used the change in the
calender as a good excuse to ring money from the masses. I bet they
didnt get paid earlier!!!>>
