And I like your Bi-Millennial figures-of-eight, indicating the non-trivial precessional change that Luke mentions. This whole discussion has changed my paradigm to one of fitting the current calendar to the analemma rather than the reverse. I think that I was sucked into the much more artificial reverse by the practice of calculating EoT as a function of calendar dates, rather that as a function of local max (noon) elevation.
