Dear Friends,

The NASS Website has added a new feature. We have removed the SunClock
image which took so long to load from the home page.

There is now a Current Data page which can be accessed by clicking
Current Data in the left frame.

The page displays a new java applet written especially for us by NASS
member Jürgen Giesen. The applet shows a world map with the position of
the sun, moon, the phase of the moon, and the tropics and polar circles.

Below the map the current Declination and the Equation of Time are
shown. Both agree within a few seconds with "The Dialist's
Companion"

Jürgen has written a very interesting collection of java applets which
show solar and lunar data in various formats. These can be seen by
following the link below the NASS applet. Of course, your browser must
have java enabled to take advantage of any of the applets.

         ========

The NASS Website is looking for a few good men.

Search engines simply do not pay much attention to sundial sites. I
would like to encourage the various sites linked from the NASS pages to
link back to the NASS site, and hopefully to each other. With the
commercial sites overloading the search engines we dialists need to
stick together.

If you enjoy surfing sundial sites and are willing to take a few notes
as you go, please reply directly to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] I will assign
a small section of the NASS links page to each respondent.

The assignment would be to hit the pages on your list and see if they
are linked back to NASS. If not, make a note of the Webmaster's email so
I can contact them.

Any takers? I could use your help.

Thank you,

Bob Terwilliger
NASS Webmaster
