Fellow dialists, For those in the U.S. thinking of using the suggestion of Tony Moss to produce sundial layouts laminated in the top layer of a Formica sheet, the main plant and engineering folks can be contacted at Formica Corp., 10155-T Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45241. I would be inclined to substitute acetate/mylar sheets for the paper in any layouts that were to be laminated in the Formica. Most papers have chemicals present that can lead to discoloration when exposed to sunlight. For exacting results in layout, paper is also unstable in dimensional aspects - mostly due to changes in humidity. The acetate/mylar is commonly available in art supply stores. I like the matte surface best since it has a 'tooth' that is more receptive to compatible inks and toner. It would be interesting to know if the Formica folks produce an ultraviolet resistant laminate - all the better for sundials. I will pursue the question. Larry Bohlayer 39.047 N 77.769 W
