Dear Foeke, There exists a sundial still in use in Valencia, Spain. The sundial indicates the period of time available for each irrigator in the irrigation ditch of Valencia Port. In "La Busca de Paper", the journal of the Sundial Catalan Society, 33, January-April 1999, there is an article, in Catalan and in Spanish, giving detailed information on this sundial. Best wishes.
