I've been experimenting with Fer's new ZW2000 program. I wondered about the program name derivation so I asked a friend in The Netherlands to help translate and interpret "Zonwvlak." I thought others might be interested is his reply:
Zonwvlak means zonnewijzer-vlak. And that is short for "Een platte zonnewijzer". Zon is the dutch word for sun. Wijzer is the dutch word for dial. Put together, becomes "zonnewijzer." Vlak means "in a flat form." Zonwvlak is short for that and in 8 letters. For the good old DOS times. -- Best wishes, Larry McDavid W6FUB Anaheim, CA (20 miles southeast of Los Angeles, near Disneyland)
