RE: A Sundial Movie
Hi all,
I have been approached concerning the making of a movie that is about a
sundial maker. I have agreed to act as a consultant for them. There is
some information about the movie titled: THE SUNDIAL FIELD on the
director's website which is: www.chelseapoint.com
If anyone is interested in helping us out please contact me. The follow
is a list of what they think they need:
1. A "consultant" that can
a). Help place the sundials appropriately
b). Show our actor some of the particulars of creating a sundial. He
will be working on sundials in the film so he will
need to know of some of the steps as "busy" work" such as measuring
angles, etc.
c). Any other pertinent sundial knowledge would be helpful.
2. Where to find antique-looking horizontal metal sundials to borrow,
rent, and/or buy.
3. Where to find sundials that can be engraved.
4. Where to locate tools and materials to borrow.
5. Contacts of Bay Area dialers that make metal-type sundials.
6. One kind of big horizontal bronze or brass (shiny) sundial with roman
numerals and antique looking with the name "Lucy" engraved as well as
another possible engraving.
7. Three or four smaller sundials with the name "Lucy" engraved. These
can be different styles but need to be antique-like. And I'm wondering
if we may be able to "cheat" it somehow so the name appears to be
engraved but isnt actually engraved on the sundial itself (like
engraving a plate to place on the sundial). This could be ideal because
then maybe we can borrow sundials without disturbing them.
8. Five horizontal antique-looking plain sundials (no name engraved). If
we can find a way to "cheat" the sundials that need to have "Lucy"
engraved, then we may be able to reuse the "Lucy" sundials in different
scenes by removing the Lucy name so the sundial is plain.
9. Two or three incomplete sundials.
10. One sundial with broken gnomon (or a gnomon that isn't fully
attached to sundial). In the movie a sundial falls off of a bench and
the gnomon breaks.
11. Sundial making tools and devices' anything that our sundial maker
would need to create and build metal sundials.
12. Sundial materials, metals, etc.
