I have just learned from Andre Bouchard that the
Montreal Planetarium is planning an exhibition of sundials - to be shown
from May 24, 2001 through Jan 6, 2002. The exhibit includes several
portable sundials as well as 3-4 reproduction models and some photos of public,
fixed dials in the area. This exhibit will be on the tour schedule for the
NASS conference to be held in Montreal from Sep 14 through the 16th. The
tour will also visit other dials in Montreal and could also take in dials in
Ville Laval, Longueuil, and Boucherville.
We are also hoping to welcome a number of friends
from overseas to this meeting. A few people who have expressed an interest
in attending include Tony Moss of England, Francois Blateyron of France, and
Robert Felix of Switzerland.
We are currently calling for papers to be
presented at the conference. Please contact Fred Sawyer if you have an
