All,

A while back I mentioned that I was asked to consult on a movie called the "The
Sundial Fields". Well the shooting is complete. The movie will be a 20 minute
or so love story about a sundial maker who loses his lover by accident/murder.
The scenes were set in a small town in 1929 and 1949. As many of you have
pointed asked "Why sundials?" It turns out that the movie could have been
about whirly-jig. The only real connection is that the director has this image
of a valley full of sundials gleaming in the sun, (digitally created of course)
 as the final scene.

Colonial Brass supplied most of the dials used. Especially nice were dial
plates straight from the foundry pour with all of the sprues and gates of
bronze still attached. They also supplied several dials with the main
character's name on them . I supplied several dial and tools from my
collection and the workshop of Norm Greene's. These were more shining brass
and pewter. My dialing scale and some old drawings (you know, the kind that
we've all done while trying to figure out a dial were used.)

The trailer and wrap party should be ready in a week or two and the final movie
in a few months.

Thanks for everyone's help
