The June issue of The Compendium (print version)
included a one-page reminder that NASS sent out as a service to BSS - the
reminder was intended to jog the memories of NASS members who are also BSS
members but who have not paid their BSS dues for the upcoming year.
Because the reminder came at the very last minute, when the issue was already
with the printer, we were not able to selectively stuff the envelopes of only
those people for whom it was relevant. As a result, I am getting messages
from many people who are concerned that their BSS membership is lapsing when
they thought they had already renewed - either through NASS or with BSS
directly.
Please note that the reminder sheet was sent to
everyone. Your getting a copy of it does not automatically indicate that
you are behind in your BSS dues. If you did not also get a separate
renewal notice some time ago directly from BSS - to which you did not
respond - then there is probably no reason for you to be concerned. If you
are not sure of your membership status in BSS, please check your membership
card. If this still does not clarify the issue, please contact BSS
officers directly - not NASS. NASS does not hold the BSS membership
directory data. You can be assured that monies sent to BSS via NASS have
all been delivered and BSS has been notified of payments.
