Hello All
As Americans we often get the impression that we
are not liked by many of the peoples and nations of the world. In the past
we have seen our embassies bombed, our flag burned and our president hanged in
effigy. We often stand alone on many issues in the United
Nations.
So it was an immense amount of comfort to
me personally to hear all the messages of support not only from the
international members of this list (who I already knew were our friends!), but
especially the official messages of support from so many of the world's
governments. Even countries like China, Russia, and several Arab nations
have sided with us and have offered their help.
Little gestures like Russia flying their flag at
half mast, and our wonderful British friends playing the American National
Anthem in front of Parliment meant so much!
Hopefully this sad event will bring us all closer
together.
