Saturday Night: Greetings Everybody,
I just returned from the NASS conference in Montreal. It ended half a day early because with the absence of some of the speakers, the agenda was shorter. It was great to see everyone-some new faces, some familiar. Many Quebec Sundial society members attended, as well as a quite a few folks from Europe. The absence of those who could not attend was clearly felt. The presentations were wonderful, as were the displays, and we had a very nice bus sundial tour today, prepared by our Quebec Sundial Society hosts Andre Bouchard and company. Robert Adzema receive the Sawyer Dialing prize this year, and as a bonus we got to view the 1930s movie cartoon "the Sunshine Makers," which apparently influenced him as a child. Fred himself received as a surprise a first class custom dial made by Tony Moss in appreciation. Thanks to everyone who could participate for making this year's meeting a success, despite the difficulties of this week's upheaval. Next year in Tucson, AZ! Bill Gottesman
