According to Ernst Zinner's _Deutsche und niederländische astronomische Instrumente des 11.-18. Jahrhunderts_ (Munich, 1967), p. 530, Johann Nep. Schrettegger (died around 1843) was one of the last great sundial makers of Augsburg. His sundials are similar to those of the Augsburg instrument maker Andreas Vogler (died in 1808), whose daughter Schrettegger married in 1797. You will probably find more information on Schrettegger in M. Bobinger's, _Alt Augsburger Kompaßmacher: Sonnen-, Mond- und Sternenuhren_ (Augsburg, 1966), but this work is not available to me at the moment. ======================================================== * Robert H. van Gent * Tel/Fax: 00-31-30-2720269 * * Zaagmolenkade 50 * * * 3515 AE Utrecht * E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * * The Netherlands * * ******************************************************** * Home page: http://www.phys.uu.nl/~vgent/homepage.htm * ========================================================
