Coincidentally, I was at a charity lecture by Patrick Moore in
Liverpool (England) last Monday evening.
He was
selling books for the charity, and said that he regretted being unable to sign
then - he clearly has arthritis or something similar which makes it difficult
for him. It was noticeable that he had quite a problem putting his watch
back on at the end of his talk. He now walks with two sticks, a fairly
recent addition.
Last
year, Tony Moss and I were fortunate enough to have dinner with the great man -
we discussed, amongst other things,sundials located on the
moon.
I have his business card on which he
wrote his signature for me - it's a bit shaky.
