Folks, I have just looked at Frans Maes' wonderful web site. www.biol.rug.nl/maes/sundials/
Having scrolled through some of the realisations of analemmatic dials, my love of them is vindicated. They are simply so elegant. But I accept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and others favour say polar designs.. My thanks to Frans for putting my images on his website, and for adapting my brief notes so well. One small error of mine crept in: the price was $US 16 rather than 6. Frans jokingly (?) suggested a way of using the Fossil watch in Patagonia and similar latitudes. I have visited there several times, and I cheated by using a digital watch. Once again, thanks Frans, for allowing many more people to see the Fossil dial, but especially for the dials on the rest of the pages of your site.
