Hello Frank, Anselmo and all,

I am alive and well but suffering from unreliable email service. I routinely
receive messages from the sundial list and others although the number was
low over the Easter break. I am obviously missing some messages. I don't
know where the problem is, my ISP, my email program (MS Outlook) or the
internet in general. I typically receive about 10 messages per day but I
don't know how many I don't receive. From messages like this, I suspect that
perhaps 5% don't get through.

I rarely get junk mail (spam) while my wife's address
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> gets several spam offers every day. This may be
a clue to the problem. She uses MS Outlook Express while I use MS Outlook. I
don't have any spam filters installed but my ISP or email program may have
added some security upgrades that have degraded the service.

Has anyone else had problems like this? Has Microsoft increased the security
with one of its automatic but intrusive upgrades to MS Outlook?

Thanks for you interest and alerting me to the problem.

Alas despite several attempts I have been unable to reach R T Bailey
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) although his messages come through in this
direction. I wanted to thank him for the thoughtful reply he sent
concerning the way old sundialists laid out wall dials using the pole
star. Has anyone else had trouble reaching him?
