The 8th Annual NASS conference will take place in Tucson, AZ Sept. 26-29, 2002.  John Carmichael will be our local host.  The bus tour this year will feature a trip to Kitt Peak and a visit to John's own workshop.  Registration info will be sent with the June issue of The Compendium.

But it's also time for planning to begin on the 2003 conference.  If anyone has an idea, suggestion or would like to volunteer to help identify a location and plan the 2003 conference, please let me know (off-list, please).  The primary role of the local host would be to plan a bus tour of area sundials and to serve as liaison with hotel and bus company.  If you know of 8-12 dials in your area that can reasonably be visited by a busload of dialing enthusiasts in the course of a day (8 hours tops), why not consider volunteering to be our host!

Prior locations have included Washington DC, Toronto ON, Chicago IL, Seattle WA, Hartford CT, San Francisco CA and Montreal Quebec.

Anyone who is interested in this possibility can contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] - please don't simply reply to the whole sundial list.
