Hi John,

The word "one-faced" in your question makes it a little more complecated to
answer, but there are "multi wrap-around styles" dials.

At first I thought of a star dial or cross dial or complecated baroque
dials, but they are "multi-faced" dials and not "one-faced" dials.
In the same body there are many styles and also many planes.

But an example that would be as defined is the half of a hollow cylinder,
with axis parallel to the earth axis.
The two edges act as a polestyle, one for the morning and the other for the
afternoon hours.
To be honest, this isn't a plane dial but a cylidrical dial, however, still
with one face.

I have no examples of a dial with a 3 or 5 or .. 'sided gnomon'.

Best wishes, Fer.
