The 'precious' original dial arrived for replication packed like the crown
jewels.

Delineation was competent and appropriate for around 51°North which, after its
true nature was revealed, the convent authorities agreed should be re-worked
for their latitude. I'm not sure how the original was engraved/etched but I
guess the intention was to have a deep hand-engraved appearance with varying
depth and thick/thin lines. Possible a 3-axis pantograph was used or one which
tilted like a die-sinking machine to follow width and depth of the master
template.

P.S. For List members who are still waiting for my latest distribution of
JPEGs showing a latitude quadrant in production - apologies! I've had to
sidestep for a few days to devote time to a family problem. Coming soon!
