A hip young couple is standing in front of a horizontal sundial. On the other side of the dial is a older man in bib overalls and a baseball cap saying, "This my dear, is a sundial. As the sun moves, it casts a shadow on this calibrated dial, allowing you to tell what time of day it is."
Big pause as the couple look at each other.
The young man then says, "What will they thing of next."
