Peter and Mike, The following is an excerpt from the Compendium for Aug. 1994 - I don't believe the publisher has any more copies.
As we were going to press, I learned of another dialing book available for purchase: a reprint of the classic 4th edition (1900) of A.Gatty's The Book of Sundials, enlarged and revised by Eden & Lloyd. This softbound 529 page reprint is a relatively non-technical, chatty discussion and history of dials. It covers antique dials, Renaissance dials, vertical, Scottish, cylindrical, globe, cross & star shaped, facet headed, and portable dials - as well as mottoes and some easy construction techniques. It is available from Adams Brown Co., 26 North Main St., Cranbury NJ 08512 (609) 655-8269, for $29.95 (plus $1.75 p/h). This company also sells Waugh's book for $5.95 (plus p/h of $1.75 for one or $2.25 for two books). ----- Original Message ----- From: "peter ransom" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 2:55 PM Subject: Re: Gatty 4 or Eden & Lloyd. > Hi all, > > I saw the ad yesterday (or was it Sunday?) on the abe website. > I seem to remember hearing that this had been reprinted a few years ago, but > this is the first copy I've heard that's come available in the last 18(?) > months.
