Dear Thad,     Thanks for the information about your dial.  Unless it is reasonably different to what has gone before (in antiquity) then it is probably not what I am looking for.  I will be in touch again when I get a few more replies.   Regards, Mike Cowham Cambridge UK   I made a ring dial that doubles as a bracelet.  It's made of NuGold (a commercial brass).  I also made a 4" dia. nickel-sterling horizontal dial.  I have a recent store bought wood folding horizontal-vertical string gnomon dial (2"x3") with the original company paperwork.  They are all set for 42N or 42.2N.  If any of these dials are of interest, please let me know.
