Hello Mario and all

I am in France, I am trying to list all sundials existing in my area
(Touraine in Loire valley). Now I have about 120 sundials listed including
39 massdials in 21 different places. At first I am surprised by this high
number of massdial, Touraine is an area large as a 100km diameter circle.
Much of them were not known even by the french sundial society, and I'm sure
to find much more, so I believe there are much many more than we were
thinking. I plan to visit all churches in Touraine (about 300) and try to do
statistics according to region, churche age, kind of church etc.
Now to answer your question, I never found massdial with N or S letters as
you tell. Only someone with roman figures (so are they massdial?) and
someone with a cross at the end of the line indicating mass hours.
I can send you a PDF file with all "my" massdial if you want.
I am in contact with Denis Schneider.
à bientôt
François Pineau
