The only 'pub' dial that I recall is on the front of the Chequers
Thistle Hotel at Horley. It was a coaching inn so the dial would have been
quite useful to them in those days (if the sun was shining). We often stay
there when we fly out of Gatwick but always seem to arrive in the dark and
depart before dawn for our flight so have never got around to photographing
it and it is of no use for timing our departures! It does not seem to be in
the 2000 Register but I am sure that someone will have reported it by now,
