Hello Sundial Designers:
I've got lots of good news!
I wrote to all of the major website organizations that deal
with stained glass. And there are many. I must have
sent out 30 emails so far! In my letters I tell
them about our project to get more stained glass sundials built and invite
them to visit the new SGS site and to add a link to it from their sites. I
also joined the Stained Glass Email List and told everybody there about
SGS.
The response has been enormous! Everybody writes back that
saying they had never heard of stained glass sundials before and would be very
happy to include a link to the SGS site. I just looked this morning and links to
the Stained Glass Sundials of the World site are appearing in many of the
Stained glass sites.
Also, I've been getting many letters from stained glass
artisans wanting more information. (I'm going to ask Dave to put another link in
the site that will answer some of the more technical questions I've been
getting, like gnomon attachment).
Also, I've been asked by three different stained glass
publications to write a paper on stained glass sundials!!!
Although this is an educational, non-profit website, if you
read the paragraph on commissioning a stained glass sundial window on the
Related Links page, you will see that Dave and
I have worded and designed it especially to stimulate business for you
sundial designers (and stained glass makers too!). I have no doubt that some of
you will soon be contacted by a stained glass maker who will want to purchase a
sundial design from you. The word is out!
If you are interested in receiving orders for stained glass
window sundial designs, then I would suggest that you put a link on you own
website to the Stained Glass Sundials of the World website to get your
customers interested in the idea when they visit your site. Also, if a
stained glass maker visits your site, he will see that you are at least familiar
with them.
