I forgot to say the obvious.

To protect non-public sundials that are in private collections from theft or
damage, just have a firm Registry policy for non-public significant sundials
NOT to print the owner's name, street address or latitude and longitude in
the Dial Description, even if he gives his permission.  Don't print it.

We did this for all private collection dials in the stained glass site.
