Dear shadow watchers, I am hoping to make a globe dial and would like to use a metal or ceramic sphere (250 to 300mm diameter) with a matt surface that would show day/night separation reasonably well, with longitude and latitude grid and outlines of continents on it. Is there something ready-made that dial maker's and diallists know about that might be available to the public or would I have to have a sphere designed and made and engraved? I do not want to re-invent the wheel and would prefer to use a globe that is already out there somewhere. Perhaps someone might be able to point me in the right direction?
