Please excuse all my emails today, but all these little topics have come up.
BSS members David Brown and Peter Walker have just completed the design, construction and installation of a new gnomon for the famous Marlborough Dial by John Oliver located at the Merchant's House, Marlborough, Wiltshire England. David and Peter are shy so I'm letting you all know what a great job they did. This old dial hasn't worked since the mid 1800's when it was struck by lightening and lost its gnomon. Thanks David & Peter from all of us! David sent me good new photos of both the exterior and interior and an article and original drawing of the dial by Gatty. We have subdivided the large Image Archive and The Technical Information pages into smaller subpages so that the download times of these pages is quicker with no download glitches.
