Back in October I started working on a Satellite Outage Ceiling Dial. When the Sun gets within the antenna beam then it's RF energy causes my satellite internet connection receiver to go deaf. Well for the last few days (early March 2005) the Sun is back to the same declination range and I was able to get a little more data. But on days like today when the Sun only peaks out of the clouds every now not much data gets collected.

So far I have not been able to get my Kodak DC290 camera to focus on the ceiling when pointing up so the only images I have are rather fuzzy.

On a related topic, is there a way to get a polar plot (azimuth & elevation) of the Sun's path for my location (39:11:24 N - 123:09:50W)? It would be interesting to make an overlay of this plot on transparent material and overlay it on the plot of GPS satellite locations. I have a feeling that they experience the same outage due to the Sun.

Have Fun,
