There was an article in The Hindu newspaper the other day reporting
on plans to rennovate the instruments of the old observatory (Jantar
Mantar) in New Delhi. It also has a picture of one of the massive
masonry instruments (the Misra Yantra, which I think might be translated
as the Egyptian Instrument).
