Hello all:
Dave Bell has fixed the error message problem with
the Sundial Cupola website URL. The best URL seems to be this
one:
We have made significant helpful changes to
the Sundial Cupola Master Construction Plan including more dimensions, drawings
of individual parts, and lumber requirements. Also there are now drawings
of all the sundial faces and gnomons, and drawings showing how the gnomons are
attached.
We've included links to FAQ about cupolas which
include links to all the cupola manufacturers. And there are links to
other websites relating to cupola installation and construction. There is
now a Technical Information Page and even a PDF showing all the
commercially available weathervanes with an astronomical theme.
I have written to all the cupola manufacturers on
the internet and many are excited very interested in the concept, which is new
to them. It opens more possibilities for their customers. If
any of their customers wants a sundial cupola or tower, I will try to connect
them with local sundial designers and makers in their area to help them with
their designs, especially with the wall declination measurements
and sundial installations. Most
of their customers are located back east.
I hope one of you gets a commission sundial
cupola. Please let us know if you make one or find out about any
others, and Dave will post photos on them on the website.
