I would like to suggest that those who have not
visited my web site may wish to do so. It is
http://www.illustratingshadows.com

With the exception of the main book, which is
discounted to members of NASS and BSS, everything else
on the site is free.

There are spreadsheets for vertical, horizontal, and
declining dials, and spreadsheets to help evaluate the
latitude of a store bought generic dial, as well as a
spreadsheet to help do most of the hard work when
calculating a wall's declination. Most of the tables
in the main book were built with spreadsheets, and
these are on the web site.

There are extracts from the book, such as a "just
build the thing" (Micro Shadows), "Build and
understand a horizontal dial" (Simple Shadows), which
is extracted and simplified from the main book. Free.
Also extracts on CAD and VRML, declination lines, and
paper cutout and paper pop-up dials. Also, articles on
the intricacies of spreadsheets and some innovative
ways of doing things.

Feel free to look at and download the stuff that is
there. And if so inclined, feel free to acquire the
main book which is almost 300 pages.

The main book is:
