New: booklet about the sundials of Bremen -----------------------------------------
In the old Hanse town Bremen (Germany) there are at least 70 fixed sundials. Dieter Vornholz, head of the local planetarium, has compiled a 30 pages article about the most interesting ones including a register with all known fixed sundials. Among them there are many old pieces in stone and some of them date in the 17th century. But also some new works are presented including a sundial which during the night can be used to estimate the time by means of the position of Polaris. The booklet closes with some general instructions how to read the time from sundials and how to construct them. The booklet is priced DEM 9.80 (eq. to about 7 US$).
