In response to recent correspondence on 'Human' Sundials (an initial enquiry from J. Taylor ?), maybe subscribers to the "Sundial mailing list" would like to know that we operate an international mail-order business, supplying sets of personalised Plans & Layout Instructions for ground-level Analemmatics. These are designed to use a PERSON'S OWN SHADOW to indicate correct clock time, even coping automatically with the twice-yearly Standard to/from Daylight-saving time changes.
Our sets of Plans give all the required measurements (to the nearest centimetre) - all we require is the Address of intended location and the overall diameter required; we would normally recommend 6 metres. All you need is a LEVEL area of ground - it does not matter what the person's height is, and you do not need to 'lean over' at an angle ! There are many examples at famous 'Stately Homes' in the UK (we even had one opened by the "Duchess of Kent"!) - but they are mainly used by Junior Schools, who simply paint the layout on their Schoolyards.
